DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF FLIGHT OPERATIONS & TECHNICAL SERVICES


Reports to:  
Director of Flight Operations & Technical Services
Department:  Operations Department
Classification: Exempt

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Provide support to the Director of Flight Operations & Technical Services for matters relating to Flight Operations, Technical Standards, Maintenance Issues, and Heliports
  •  Represent HAI at various industry and government (Federal, State, and Regional) meetings
  • Performs liaison duties and corresponds with international, national, and state aviation agencies as well as local agencies and organizations as directed
  • Assist with HELI-EXPO® flight operation activities
  • Responds to requests for technical assistance from members, media, and the general public
  • Contributes to the various HAI publications as appropriate
  • Provides assistance with regard to education courses as needed
  • Other duties as assignedAssist the Director of Communications & Public Relations as necessary
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • College or advanced degree related to aviation safety, maintenance, and/or management preferred
  • Five years of related helicopter maintenance background, training, and experience
  • Five years as a Certificated helicopter pilot
  • Team player with proven ability to manage, mentor, and motivate staff
  • Ability to travel
