HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Report to: Director of Human Resources & Administrative Services
Department: HR / Admin
Classification: Non Exempt, Overtime Eligible

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Providing clerical and administrative support to the Director of Human Resources & Administrative Services of an international aviation association, including: managing daily and long term calendars; handling incoming/outgoing mail; maintaining confidential records and files; and preparing internal and external correspondence;
  • Updating and maintaining the association’s human resources management system (HRIS) and other electronic records management systems relevant to the operations of the department;
  • Reviewing all applications, forms, documents, and reports relevant to department activities to assure completeness, accuracy, standardization, and compliance;
  •  Distributing vacancy announcements, sorting incoming resumes, and scheduling interviews and/or responding to applicants as directed;
  • Coordinating with other departments to prepare all files, documents, and other items necessary for new employees; and,
  •  Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of one year prior experience in human resources
  • Ability to act in a confidential capacity while handling external and internal matters
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective and professional oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills with extensive use of the Microsoft Office package
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to travel
