Sikorsky Selects Goodrich Electrical Technology for CH-53K Helicopter Program

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- (Paris Air Show) -- Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation has selected Goodrich Corporation (NYSE:GR) to supply the electrical power generation and distribution system for the new CH-53K helicopter program.  The helicopter will be used by the U.S. Marine Corps. (USMC).  Goodrich's Pitstone Green, UK and Twinsburg, Ohio facilities will be involved in the development and delivery of a complete electrical power system for the aircraft.  The system consists of: generators and controls; primary power distribution; AC/DC converters; battery; and external power controls. The USMC is expected to take delivery of 156 CH-53K helicopters between 2014 and 2022.

Mike Gardiner, President of Goodrich's Electrical Power Systems team stated, "We are proud to be part of this important USMC program. Goodrich brings proven technologies to the CH-53K program and our team is confident that we can continue to build on our strong working relationship with Sikorsky to assist in making the CH-53K a successful program."

Goodrich currently supplies power generation for the Sikorsky S-92/H-92 and has recently been selected to supply the DC power generation for the Sikorsky S-76D.
