The Allama Iqbal International Airport (OPLA) located in Lahore, Pakistan just completed the installation of a three position, forward scatter Runway Visual Range (RVR) system.
Advanced Computing & Engineering Solutions (ACES) of Islamabad acted as the Prime Contractor for the project and supplied and installed the Belfort Runway Visual Range (RVR) system for ILS Runway 36 at the International airport. The RVR system consisted of three (3) Belfort Forward Scatter Visibility sensors, Ambient Light sensor (ALS), a Runway Light Intensity Monitor (RLIM), and the ICAO compliant RVR software with multiple displays. The three position RVR system supports CAT III operations at the Lahore International Airport. As the name implies, the RVR system provides critical runway visibility information to inbound pilots.
We were very pleased to cooperate with Belfort Instrument Company and use their RVR system for the airport, this according to Imran Basit, ACES Project Manager for the Lahore Airport, he continues, Belfort is well known for its meteorological sensors and aviation meteorological systems and we were confident of the RVR performance.
According to Ralph F. Petragnani, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Belfort, Belfort is continuing its equipment sales into the international market. We feel our RVR systems and Automated Weather Observation Systems can compete with anyone on quality, price, and After Sales support.
