SRT Helicopters Wins Advanced SAR Training Contract from China’s Ministry of Transport
SRT Helicopters Wins Advanced SAR Training Contract from China’s Ministry of Transport

SRT Helicopters, the world’s leading provider of high risk operational services and training for rotorcraft users and aviation organizations, announced today at the Helicopter Association International HeliExpo ’09 here that the company has won a contract to provide advanced aerial search and rescue (SAR) training to the Chinese Ministry of Transport’s Rescue & Salvage Bureau.

The new program will provide comprehensive advanced training for pilots, crew chiefs and rescue personnel to enhance the Bureau’s search and rescue capabilities.  In October 2008, the Bureau announced acquisition of four new Sikorsky S-76C++™  helicopters, doubling the Bureau’s SAR fleet to eight S-76C rotorcraft.  SRT has worked with the U.S. government to coordinate its training program with the procurement.

“SRT Helicopters is delighted to add China’s Ministry of Transport to its growing list of customers,” said Christian Gadbois, SRT president and CEO.  “The Ministry’s selection of our company reflects its confidence in our ability to provide the best training available to ensure the Rescue & Salvage Bureau enhances its search and rescue operations.”

“We will customize this program for the Ministry, just as we have for all the law enforcement, military and public service organizations we serve, to ensure China’s aerial search and rescue specialists receive the most realistic training possible,” Gadbois added.  “Our goal is to ensure that emergency personnel can safely and proficiently handle any life-saving mission scenario, including complex operations requiring extensive crew coordination.’
“The members of SRT’s training staff have earned global reputations for their professionalism, expertise and passion for their jobs while responding to real-world situations every day,” Gadbois concluded. “We take the total operational mission environment into account.  Our programs consider all the factors that affect crew culture, training levels, competence and proficiency, including command and control staffs, communications, mutual aid, joint operations, budgets, politics and policy.  We are experts in training for high-risk mission scenarios that our competitors do not cover.”
