FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt said this week that pilots have an “extreme need to refocus on professionalism” after cases such as the Northwest Airlines plane that overshot Minneapolis.
Babbitt said, “With everything we know about human factors, there are still those who just ignore the common sense rules of safety.” “Occasionally we have to remind ourselves that it is a privilege to operate in the National Air Space. We need to take responsibility to operate safely in that airspace.”
