HAI President Presses House Transportation Committee for GA NextGen Funding
HAI President Presses House Transportation Committee for GA NextGen Funding

HAI President Matthew Zuccaro joined 18 other general aviation and transportation industry associations this week in a letter to House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee Chairman James Oberstar (D-Minnesota) and Ranking Member John Mica (R-Florida) to stress the importance of modernizing the Air Traffic Control System.

As has been reported on HAI’s RotorNews, the House of Representatives is slated to begin consideration of a jobs package after the Thanksgiving Congressional Recess, and Zuccaro and other industry leaders in Washington are calling for additional funding for our nation’s aviation air infrastructure to support the acceleration and deployment of next generation of air traffic control “NextGen” capabilities and equipage of aircraft.

Zuccaro and others in the aerospace industry in Washington believe accelerated NextGen funding will drive the nation’s economic recovery and stimulate job growth across all sector.  HAI will continue to work with the Federal Aviation Administration and Congress to obtain funding for helicopters to equip with NextGen avionics.
