This dynamic presentation will review the fatal crash of a medical helicopter in the Washington, DC, air space. Jonathan Godfrey, the sole survivor of that crash, will discuss the events leading up to and immediately after the accident. This course will include lessons learned, what was done right, and subsequent safety improvements at the base and program level. Motivation to influence safety and survival at the crew level are highlighted throughout the presentation.

Instructor

Jonathan Godfrey is a flight nurse who was the sole survivor of a medical helicopter crash. He has since become a nationally recognized speaker on the topic of air medical safety and survivability. He chairs the Vision Zero initiative and cofounded the Survivor Network through the Association of Air Medical Services and continues to be an active flight crew member in the transport industry.
