The Business Case for Safety
Wednesday, March 6 | | 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm
Las Vegas Convention Center, North Hall, Room N259
Safety Management Track
Dr. Eherts will further the business case argument for safety investments by discussing potential effects on stock price and market capitalization in addition to the recent advances in return on investment (ROI) calculations for safety. He will present macro case studies, followed by traditional cost-benefit calculations for individual investments using the ROHSEI tool but focusing on tool control system advancements. Case studies and interactive Q&A will reinforce the learning objectives.
Learning Objectives/Benefits
Attendees will better understand the value of safety initiatives (including but not limited to tool control) and how to “sell” investments in these programs to their management. Copies of the software to calculate ROI and payback will be made available at no cost.
