UTair Ufa, part of the UTair Group, has won a tender for the performance of complex air transport operations for passengers and cargo for Bashneft.

UTair Ufa will be the general contractor and organizer of air operations conducted by UTair Group companies: UTair-Helicopter Operations, UTair-Passenger Operations, UTair Express and UTair-Cargo.

Transport operations for Bashneft are expected to require different types of aircraft within the UTair Group fleet, including Mi-8T, Mi-8MTV, Mi-8AMT/Mi-171, AS350, and AS355 helicopters as well as Tu-154, Tu-134, An-24, An-26, An-74 and other fixed wing aircraft. Transport operations will focus on fly-in and fly-out teams and cargo from Ufa to Usinsk, Naryan-Mar, Varandei and further to the company's oilfield in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

Winning the Bashneft tender has confirmed UTair Group's leading position as a first-ranking contractor with a wide spectrum of air transport services for Russian oil and gas companies.


In January 2013 UTair Group aircraft transported 617,581 passengers, exceeding the results for the same period in 2012 by 9.3 percent. UTair Group passenger turnover for the accounting period increased by 14.5 percent over last year, reaching 1,265,726.7 PKM.

UTair Group fixed wing aircraft logged 22,919 flight hours, 4.9 percent more than for January 2012. In the first month of 2013, UTair Group aircraft transported 2,057.7 tons of cargo, exceeding the results of the same period in 2012 by 43.4 percent. Seat occupancy on aircraft for the accounting period reached 70.8 percent, 1.6 percent more than the result in 2012.

UTair Group helicopters logged 9,144 flight hours in January 2013 and transported 43,949 passengers and 8,463.5 tons of cargo.
