H+S Aviation Highlights GE CT7-8 Engine Repair and Overhaul

EASA and FAA Approved MRO Services

Las Vegas, Nevada -  H+S Aviation, Portsmouth, UK has added the new generation General Electric CT7-8 series turboshaft engine to its EASA 145 and FAA approvals list. The CT7-8 is currently in production for Sikorsky S-92 and AgustaWestland AW101 multi-engine helicopters. H+S Aviation now offers full scale support for engine repair, overhaul, test and field support.

“The addition of the CT7-8 to our portfolio strengthens our position as a world leading, independent service provider for rotorcraft engines,” stated Mark Taylor, Managing Director H+S Aviation. “We have an excellent track record on this engine series,” he continued. “Combined with our experienced technicians, OEM-correlated test facility and proven process technology, our customers worldwide will receive the outstanding level of service they have come to expect.”

H+S Aviation has been GE approved on various models of the CT7/T700 series since 1984. During that time, the company has processed more than 2,500 of this engine type through its facility. In December 2012, H+S Aviation further strengthened its GE relationship when the company signed an extended subcontract agreement to handle all Engine Care and Maintenance Program (ECMP) commercial engine shop visits for CT7-5A and -9B turboprop engines used on SAAB 340 aircraft.

APPH to Supply Landing Gear for Super Lynx and AW159

Las Vegas, Nevada - APPH, a BBA Aviation company, has been selected by AgustaWestland to supply landing gear for the Super Lynx 300 and AW159 helicopters. AgustaWestland recently announced its first export order for the AW159 from South Korea’s Defence Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), initially for eight aircraft. This order is in addition to 62 aircraft under contract to the UK Armed Forces. The aircraft will be delivered in 2015-2016.

“APPH and AgustaWestland have a longstanding relationship built upon the AW101 programme,” commented APPH Director of Business Development Simon Atwell. “APPH is pleased to extend that relationship with the Super Lynx and Wildcat helicopters.”

APPH designs, qualifies, manufactures and provides aftermarket support for landing gear and hydraulic systems for commercial and military aircraft. The majority of its landing gear programmes are supplied to fixed wing military trainers and fighters, and civil and military helicopters. APPH also has a strong pedigree in turbo prop aircraft, both commercial regional and military transport.

International Governor Services Launches New Website

Las Vegas, Nevada - International Governor Services (IGS) has launched a new website at www.internationalgovernor.com that features its engine control products in a new, easy to navigate format. IGS offers fast turn on maintenance, repair, overhaul and exchange of fuel controls, torque limiters and power turbine governors for PT6T and M250® engines.

The website features a full listing of all units available by product type and model as well as downloadable files of certifications, warranties, and related documents.

“IGS is a customer direct resource for critical small turbine engine controls,” stated David Cobb, IGS Program Director. “We are an approved Honeywell AWARS accessory overhaul facility that maintains a large pool of exchange units available for immediate worldwide dispatch.”

International Governor Services is an FAA/EASA approved repair station specializing in propeller and over-speed governors, fuel controls, fuel pumps, torque limiters and power turbine governors for fixed and rotor wing engines. Applicable engine models include P&WC PT6A, PT6T, PW100 and JT15D, Honeywell TPE331 and Rolls-Royce M250.

Premier Turbines Selected as Rolls-Royce RR300 AMROC

Las Vegas, Nevada - Premier Turbines, a BBA Aviation company, has been selected by Rolls-Royce Corporation to be a future Authorized Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Center (AMROC) for the RR300 engine.

“We are delighted to be selected for this service,” commented BBA Aviation Aftermarket Services Vice President Business Development, Mike McCauley. “Rotor wing engines are a key element of our long-term growth strategy and this new addition is most welcome. We have complete MRO capabilities at Premier Turbines and a team of field service professionals with the capability to ramp up quickly for RR300 on-site support.”

The RR300 currently powers the Robinson R66 helicopter which has gained rapid acceptance among operators. “We’ve seen the R66 fleet build up quickly since its introduction in 2010,” commented Premier Turbines’ General Manager, Jason Giebler. “With more than 300 helicopters already in service, we anticipate the need for strong field service support and repair capability. Our excellent reputation for our M250 support and our expert field service technicians means we have the resources needed to provide full RR300 service.”
