StandardAero Named Rolls-Royce Authorized Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Center (AMROC) on Rolls-Royce RR300 Engine
Las Vegas, NV – StandardAero has been selected by Rolls-Royce to become an Authorized Repair Maintenance and Overhaul Center (AMROC) in support of the RR300 engine, both at its Winnipeg (Helicopters headquarters) and Singapore locations. Currently, the two companies are working to finalize the agreement details.
As the largest Rolls-Royce M250 maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in the world, StandardAero currently has much of the necessary market presence and infrastructure in place to support the operators and service centers around the world. The company’s recent expansion at its Singapore facility, factored-in additional RR300 support within the infrastructure, providing a brand new facility already designed to support the RR300 engine with every level of support needed (lease engines, troubleshooting, field service, full MRO, etc.).
“The RR300 is very important to StandardAero and a strategic evolution in our relationship with Rolls-Royce and our leadership position in the helicopter engine MRO market,” said Kim Olson, Senior Vice President, Helicopters, Energy & Engineering, StandardAero. “We’ve been supporting the Rolls-Royce M250 engine for over 45 years. The RR300 is a natural evolution in our Helicopter engine MRO strategy; a great light-airframe engine with strong potential for growth in the marketplace.”
“We are pleased to have Standard Aero as an Authorized repair and Overhaul Center for the RR300 engine. This selection builds upon our longstanding SAL engine support relationships and helps ensure operators will have responsive, competitive support options,” said Hubert Brown, Director, Helicopter Services, Rolls-Royce. “It will be important for the R66 operators and the Service Centers to have strong technical and operational support for this new engine, and our new RR300 network will help keep their aircraft flying.”
Only six AMROCs are planned. The RR300 powers the Robinson R66 helicopter.
StandardAero is exhibiting at HAI’s HELI-EXPO 2013 in Las Vegas, Nev., March 5 - March 7, 2013; Booth # N5234.
StandardAero Scores ‘Hat Trick’ in 2013 Rolls-Royce FIRST Network Awards
Las Vegas, NV – StandardAero was the recipient of three awards at last night’s Rolls-Royce FIRST Network Recognition Reception, held as part of Rolls-Royce’s attendance at this year’s HAI Heli-Expo. Specifically, the three awards were the Rolls-Royce Total Quality Award, the Rolls-Royce Customer Satisfaction Award and the Rolls-Royce M250 Program Investment Award.
“StandardAero has been a long-time, legacy partner of Rolls-Royce’s servicing the M250 engine for close to 50 years and is one of the oldest, largest and broadest capability organizations in the Rolls-Royce FIRST Network,” said Manny Atwal, Vice President, Helicopters, StandardAero. “We’re pleased to have such a close relationship with Rolls-Royce and the M250 community and believe these awards underscore our value both to Rolls-Royce and our customers.”
The Rolls-Royce Total Quality Award recognizes those facilities that have implemented a program focusing on improving the internal and external processes that will have a direct effect on customer service. The Rolls-Royce Customer Satisfactions Award recognizes those facilities with the highest customer satisfaction rating (overall) based on customer letters, self monitoring performance, 3rd party monitoring, etc.
StandardAero’s Singapore facility was the recipient of Rolls-Royce’s M250 Program Investment Award. This award is given to facilities that have provided the most investment to improve their unique contribution to the M250 program; such as primary facility improvements (machinery, buildings, tooling), and people (internal & external) contributing improved customer service. Since its opening in August of 2012, StandardAero has invested over $3M in its Singapore facility.
With six Helicopter MRO locations around the world, StandardAero provides engine support capacity close to the market with strong central support services. Dedicated production, process and repair development engineering along with an in-house Design Approval Organization authorization has resulted in broad engineering depth and extensive component repair development.
