Martinsburg, W.V. - Power Sonix, Inc. announces at HELI-EXPO in Las Vegas the release and availability of new aeodynamic speaker arrays for their industry-leading airborne public address systems. The new wing-shaped hexagon speaker enclosures offer a 30-40% reduction in the surface area of the speaker driver enclosures from their previous models.
With these improvements, the new externally mounted PA enclosures provide the same clear speech and acoustic power in a smaller, drag-reducing package. In addition, the new enclosures enable easier under-belly and cross-tube mounting by reducing the vertical clearance and space required for the speaker array.
The new products are listed as follows:
PSAIR12N Single-horn, 300-watt speaker array
PSAIR22N 2-horn, 600-watt speaker array
PSAIR32N 3-horn, 900-watt speaker array
PSAIR42N 4-horn, 1200-watt speaker array (in a 2-by-2 array)
PSAIR42NL 4-horn, 1200-watt speaker array (in a 4-by-1 linear array)
Samples of the PSAIR12N and PSAIR22N can be seen during HeliExpo at the Power Sonix booth C4735 in the Central Hall. “These new designs are part of our commitment to offer military and law enforcement pilots with the best PA possible. Our new products also make it easier for those agencies with outdated and underpreforming PAs to upgrade to the our technology”, says Patrick Grady, VP of Sales and Marketing for Power Sonix.
Power Sonix, Inc. has been awarded a long-term contract with Korean Aerospace Industries of South Korea (KAI) to supply 900-watt PSAIR32A tactical public address systems for the Surion helicopters being made for the Korean National Police Agency program.
The Surion helicopter is being designed, engineered and manufactured in South Korea by KAI in partnership with Eurocopter of France. The 3-horn, 900-watt Power Sonix PA will be recessed into the fuselage and integrated with the Technisonic A790 audio panel, allowing cockpit headset voice projection, pre-recorded messages, and connectivity to COTS MP3 players & iPods.
Power Sonix was chosen after a comprehensive competitive bidding process over Cobham Avionics (Made by Anodyne) and Ultra Electronics. “We are extremely proud to have been chosen for this program. It further validates our products as the best airborne public address systems on the market today, providing the most power and clarity in the smallest footprint possible and at affordable prices for budget-strapped law enforcement agencies. We are very thankful that KAI’s diligent process revealed all of the advantages that Power Sonix offers”, noted Patrick Grady, VP of Sales and Marketing for Power Sonix.
