The U.S. Senate on Wednesday passed a spending bill to keep the federal government operating for the remainder of this fiscal year. It did not include an amendment offered by Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) that would have provided funding to keep air traffic control towers open — or any other amendment that would have given federal agencies flexibility in dealing with budget cuts mandated by sequestration.

The House has indicated they will accept the Senate bill without changes.
