Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.) is adding two Department of Transportation rules to his Small Biz Reg Watch, an online list of pending rules that could have adverse impacts on small businesses.
Graves says a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rule on medical exams for commercial truck drivers could hurt small businesses. The rule is expected to add new limits the number of hours truck drivers, including aviation fuel truck drivers, can work.
Graves says the rule, along with others on the list "must be considered with measured thought and adequate input from small businesses, because they have a major impact on the public and the economy."
The proposed rule will be added to the website that lists other potentially harmful rules from the IRS, EPA, and Fish and Wildlife Service.
