Sacramento, Calif. - All Weather, Inc. (AWI), a leading manufacturer of aviation weather systems, was recently awarded three multi-year contracts to provide FAA certified Automated Weather Observing Systems (AWOS) to airports throughout the state of Iowa. Over a period of three years, AWI will manufacture, install, commission, and maintain a total of 28 systems.
Each system is equipped with highly accurate, state-of-the-art sensors which measure:
Wind Speed & Direction
Precipitation Type (Present Weather)
Cloud Height & Density
The certified information gathered and disseminated by these AWOS’ will dramatically increase safety during all stages of flight operations. This valuable weather data can be used for flight planning as well as mid-flight decisions by both pilots and air traffic control personnel.
