Dallas, Texas - International helicopter pilot organization, Twirly Birds, has announced the 2015 recipient of the prestigious Les Morris award as Ms. Nancy Miller Livingston Stratford. Nancy received her helicopter rating in 1947 after having been an airplane pilot since 1940. As the first woman on the west coast of the United States to achieve her commercial helicopter certificate, the second in the United States, and the fourth in the world, her countless aviation achievements are impressive by any measure.

The Helicopter Rescue and Response Association (HRRA) is in the final planning phases for the upcoming 2015 Helicopter Rescue Summit. The summit will be held in conjunction with Helicopter Association International's HAI HELI-EXPO 2015 in Orlando, Florida. The Helicopter Rescue Summit is scheduled for March 2 at the Orange County Convention Center, 0800-1700 hrs.

Charter member John Dorcey of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, took the helm of the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) on Jan. 5 as interim Executive Director (E.D.), succeeding long-time Doug Stewart, who announced his retirement in November. Stewart was a founder of SAFE in 2009 and through the years helped build SAFE to its present eminence.
