New Delhi (The Telegraph) - A rumble woke up pilots and crew at the Indo-Tibetan Border Police mess in Gauchar, Uttarakhand. Another landslide was threatening the station and the single Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter Mark 1 that was at the base. For days, the helicopter had been used to evacuate the stranded.

Coquitlam, BC, Canada (North Shore News) - North Shore Rescue was called in to help with the rescue of a man stranded on a narrow cliff ledge in Coquitlam over the weekend. Coquitlam Search and Rescue had spotted the subject from the air in a very steep canyon area, overlooking the Pitt River, and a short time later, they called requesting assistance to do a helicopter long line rescue.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held July 10 at the Biesiot Activities Center for the Spirit Lifeline air medical helicopter, the first of its kind in Dickinson.

Anmore, BC, Canada (CTV News) - A lost hiker and his dog have been safely rescued after being stranded 36 hours on a high mountain ridge above Buntzen Lake. Search and rescue crews used a helicopter long line to reach the 43-year-old man and his dog and bring them to safety from a steep and challenging trail on July 2.

Raleigh, N.C. (army.mil) - A distress call went out June 14 concerning a hiker who had been injured in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in Gatlinburg, Tenn. North Carolina National Guard aviation assets, in conjunction with members of the North Carolina Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, or NCHART, were assigned the rescue mission in the rugged terrain of the southern region of the Appalachian Trail.
