Aurora, Ore. - Life Flight Network will be opening a base at the Burley Municipal Airport (Burley, ID). The base is scheduled to begin 24/7 operation March 20, 2015. In conjunction with the new helicopter base opening in Rexburg, Idaho, the helicopter base in Burley will significantly improve access to air medical resources in Idaho.

Isle of Wight, England (scottishdailyexpress.co.uk) - The Hoegh Osaka, a car carrier, was run aground on the Bramble Bank in the Solent close to the Isle of Wight on Jan. 4 — before listing to 45 degrees. HM Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed a helicopter and three RNLI lifeboats from Yarmouth, Calshot and Cowes rescued the entire 25 crew members on board, who were all "safe and well."

Kelantan, Malaysia (malaysiandigest.com) - Seventeen areas have been cut off, with almost 8,000 victims stranded without food for the past five days. Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Aziz Kaprawi, who visited the state to distribute basic necessities and financial aid, said the only way to reach the victims was by helicopter. "The country is in desperate need of more helicopters."
