 (Vertical Magazine) - During a panel discussion at Helitech International on Oct. 14, Bristow CEO Jonathan Baliff called on original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to take their share of the "availability risk" for operators following the purchase of an aircraft — and promised the operating giant would make no purchases from OEMs that failed to do so.

South China Morning Post - Few people realise that except for scheduled flights to Macau, firefighting, and search and rescue, all helicopter work in Hong Kong is handled by one company. What's more, it's done by a team of four pilots whose assignments run the gamut from taking visitors on panoramic sweeps across the city to lifting heavy construction equipment to remote locations, even stringing up overhead power lines.

Mr. George, who has campaigned to restore a rotary-wing air service to and from the islands since British International Helicopters (BIH) pulled out in 2012, said talks were "looking very encouraging at this stage."

Following the FAA’s recent decision to issue exemptions to six aerial cinematography companies allowing them to use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Amazon, Google, and a group of UAV manufacturers this week announced the launch of the Small UAV Coalition. The Coalition will press the FAA to move quickly to allow other small unmanned systems (under 55 lbs.) to begin operation.
