The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced on Thursday that it has received ten replacement fuel proposals, and will now begin begin the process to determine which fuels may be part of the first phase of laboratory testing. The goal is for government and industry to work together to have a new unleaded fuel by 2018.

When Disney’s new feature, Planes: Fire and Rescue, opens in a week (Friday, July 8), the story may be all be in good fun, but the firefighting, including rotorcraft’s role, will be respectful, serious, and accurate.
