On November 11, 2013, a contractor-owned Bell 407 helicopter, operating under an Exclusive Use Contract, departed an oil platform enroute to the home airport with a pilot and a bureau employee on board (SAFECOM 14-0030). Approximately five minutes after takeoff, the engine chip Light illuminated and the pilot diverted to a nearby airport and performed a precautionary landing.

Alexandria, Va. - HAI President and CEO Matt Zuccaro received an unexpected honor during his town hall meeting at the inaugural HAI HELI-DAYS event at Rotors ‘N Ribs in Goshen, Indiana. The president of the Combat Helicopter Pilots Association presented Zuccaro with the association's Robert N. Tredway Award.

Goshen, Ind. - What started out as a couple of local pilots hosting a barbecue for their fellow aviation friends has grown into an annual combination festival, air show, and trade show that draws thousands of spectators. With the addition of Helicopter Association International (HAI) as a sponsor, alongside Indiana Helicopters, HeliMotion, and others, the Rotors ’n Ribs Fly-In at Goshen Municipal Airport in Goshen, Indiana, welcomed a large, passionate crowd to watch America's largest helicopter air show.

San Francisco, Calif. (sfappeal.com) - A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter malfunctioned during a test flight at San Francisco International Airport, June 29, and landed on its side on the tarmac. The crew walked away mostly unharmed.

When U.S. House of Representatives and Senate lawmakers return next week after the Fourth of July recess, they will have much on their plate: finding a way to pay for the Highway Trust Fund, tax reform, and reaching agreement on FAA reauthorization in the face of some calling for privatization of air traffic control.
