(Tulsa World) - The pilot of an EagleMed helicopter was attempting to return to Tulsa from a planned trip to McAlester because of lower-than-expected cloud cover shortly before the aircraft crashed into trees west of Lake Eufaula last month, killing one person and injuring a nurse and paramedic, according to a report released Tuesday.

(Newsday) - East Hampton Town officials are abandoning plans to impose a summer weekend ban on all helicopters during the busy Hamptons tourism season, citing concerns about aircraft being diverted to neighboring towns. Councilwoman Kathee Burke-Gonzalez said the town board would still seek to impose nighttime curfews on flights at the East Hampton Airport and a one-trip-per-week limit on some aircraft.

(Lauderdale County, Ala. - WAFF) - The search for a downed helicopter resumed on Tuesday morning in the Tennessee River in Lauderdale County. On Monday night, crews discovered what they believed was debris from the helicopter, which is thought to have crashed about three-quarters of a mile west of the Natchez Trace bridge in Lauderdale County. Officials say the aircraft, a Hughes 500, was en route from Corinth, Miss. to Scottsboro, Ala.
