Dave Nieuwsma: Rockwell Collins V.P. Govt. Systems

Cedar Rapids, Iowa - Dave Nieuwsma, who has led the Government Systems Airborne Solutions unit for the last two years, has been named vice president of Government Systems Stategy and Business Development. The position was previously held by Phil Jasper, who was recently named executive vice president and chief operating officer, Government Systems, for Rockwell Collins.

In his new position, Nieuwsma's responsibilities include leading the company's marketing and sales organization.

"Dave brings more than 20 years of experience to this critical role," said Jasper. "Dave's broad base of experience will help guide our company's Government Systems business unit through the current challenging defense market environment and position us for future growth."

Troy Brunk replaces Nieuwsma as vice president and general manager of Airborne Solutions. Brunk, who had previously served as senior director of Airborne Communications Products, has been with Rockwell Collins since 1992. He now oversees the business that delivers avionics and flight deck solutions for fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. The organization also includes the company's unmanned airborne systems business.

"Troy's extensive knowledge of the airborne market will serve him well in his new role," said Jasper. "We expect that business to continue to thrive as we provide best value by leveraging commercial technology for our military customers."
