Mayo Clinic Seeks Director of Operations


Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., is seeking a Director of Operations to exercise operational control for all helicopter flight operations to meet FAA requirements. The individual will plan and assure that all flight operations are conducted in compliance with all applicable federal aviation regulations (FARs) with safety as the first priority. The Director of Operations is the Mayo Clinic point of contact to the FAA for all aviation operations occurring under the Mayo Clinic air carrier certificate.

Applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Business Management or related field, Master's Degree is preferred. Candidate must meet requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 14, Section 119.71(b) titled 'Management personnel: Qualifications for operations conducted under part 135 of this chapter.' To include: At least three years supervisory or management experience within the last six years in a position that exercised operational control over any operations conducted under Part 121 or Part 135, or for a person becoming a Director of Operations for the first time ever have at least three years' experience, within the last six years, as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 121 or 135 rules.

The individual must also have a Commercial pilot certificate (Rotorcraft), Instrument rating, experience with Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) flight, experience with instrument flight rule (IFR) operations in helicopters, and three years' of previous supervisory experience. Previous experience as a Director of Operations, experience in a helicopter EMS operation, and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate are preferred.
