 This is a must-attend event for all helicopter operators under contract to the federal government for wildland firefighting support. Among the topics to be addressed are public aircraft operations, human factors, load calculations, pilot qualifications, helicopter water drops, and ground force interface, as well as aerial supervision and fire traffic areas, fatigue in aviation operations, and Hazmat special permits.Contracting officials will be on hand to address procedures and policies, contracting tools, helicopter training videos, and mishap investigations. Safety management systems for small operators, self-audits, and quality-control risk assessments, as well as SAFECOMS and lessons learned on rotor strikes will also be covered. There is no cost to attend this meeting, but all attendees must register in advance. |
