HAI will be concluding the certificate submission process for those individuals and organizations, applying for the 2005 Igor I. Sikorsky Award for Humanitarian Service that participated in the Hurricane Katrina rescue and relief effort. The deadline for submission is December 31, 2006.

To date, HAI has awarded more than 400 certificates honoring those helicopter operators, pilots, and other individuals who donated their time, aircraft, and services to the people in need on the Gulf Coast. Those individuals or organizations that would like to send in an application, must also include supporting documentation, verifying their participation in the Hurricane Katrina rescue and relief effort.
